Ilha Grande, Brazil

If Rio was an introduction to the hustle and bustle of Brazil, the island of Ilha Grande is all about hitting the beach and laying back!

We stayed in the main port town of Abraao. It's a great little place with an amazing atmosphere and plenty of nightlife!

It also proved to be a great place for getting to know fellow travellers (95% of whom seem to be from Ireland!). We joined up with (back l-r) Dave, Simon, Kev, Vivienne (front) Claire and Patrick to bust the 30c temperature and hardcore jungle paths...

...via a cooling dip in a waterfall or two...

...with each hike ending in a friggin awesome beach!

We met some of the locals too...

A boat trip to the Blue and Green Lagoons where Stef and Phil hopped on board...

Getting used to the high life...

"Well ladies and gents. Which side of the beach would you like? ...If that's the biggest decision we have to make today, it's happy days!" - Lopez Mendes beach, 23/04/13
